SilentSpace Panel is the result of a complex search for a combination of materials that would produce a divider of unequalled versatility and appeal. Two of the prime design directives were that it should be extremely durable and relatively non toxic in a burning situation.

1.) The entire surface of SilentSpace Panel is covered with Class A (UBC #42-2 Test) flame retardant fabric. Several fabric covers are available. All are Class A rated. Our most used cover is rated:

Flame Spread          15
Smoke Developed   15

2.) Full scale fire studies indicate that the major constituent of SilentSpace Panel, (polyethylene foam, 75% by volume, 25% by weight) when under combustion, is less hazardous from the standpoint of toxicity than cellulosic material, ie burning wood (see abstract, Journal Of Combustion Toxicology, Nov., 1978, Fire & Safety Research Institute, Chicago, lll.)

Because of it's unique and innovative use of materials, Vesipanel is not measurable by traditional standards. As with the majority of foam products and most interior furnishings the ASTM E84 (Steiner Tunnel Test) is not applicable.

All applicable building and fire codes must be observed in any divider system application. Since application and installation is beyond the control of SilentSpace Panel Inc., users must assume full responsibility for the manor in which they use, maintain and install the SilentSpace Panel system.
